20.1 percent of Facebook users connect to the service via an Android device, compared to 18.9 percent of users who do so with an iOS device, according to data from social advertising and analytics platform Optimal, cited by Inside Facebook.

3D printing for emergencies

After reading a little about 3D printing, I keep thinking that this technology could be used to make water filters, solar power panel parts and simple irrigation parts so they can be made in the third world and places hit by disasters.
By deploying 3D printers, distribution would be easier, especially in more remote areas.
And a simple pack of open source CAD files of critical products would be good to distribute with the printers.

Print your own parts

I’ve been a little slow on the uptake but 3D printing is going to be pretty cool when it gets traction. What will Rare Spares look like in 10 years?

Interesting debate on Microsoft’s wrestle with moving to Windows 8 and its new mobile platform. Legacy pains and trying to get a disparate company trying to unify its product set.
